House Ovius
They say there are two coins to every story, which is often true, but when it comes to House Ovius, there is just so many damn coins to flip. This family could be very well considered the most dramatic family out there and it all starts with it infamous founder - captain Ovius, who has decided that having two wives and not telling them about one another, is a really good idea.
House Ovius consists of two main very distinct branches of extremely successful and ruthless merchant families. You cannot deal with one without upsetting the other, since both of them considet themselves to be the one true Ovius branch worthy of carrying the name forward. And while this feud rarely results in open violence, its roots run deep and can upset the economical climate of basically any place in Windrule. Any settlement needs trade and all trades eventually lead to one of the Ovius. No matter which one it ends up to be, there is always some sort of a drama going on with these guys.
Currently the free seas ovius branch seem to have the upper hand, being able to predict and operate better in the somewhat unpredictable climate of the new world, but the continental one deals with more rare and expensive goods that nobility would not even think about contracting the other family for, even if they might have better contacts and resellers. This sort of a tension allows the more grey areas of trade to capitalise on the many intertwined family feuds that exist between the individual members.
And from time to time one of the scandals makes it out to public and becomes the main gossip topic of the season. Some might even speculate it is sometimes done on purpose just to keep the buzz going in favour of each respective branch.
