The Blasted Waists

The Northern province of Aradanin was never the most fertile rrgion of Darci. Still, it supported vast grass lands and wild life enough to be home to the first human city, Davo and the only holy site in the cult of Jova concidered Holy enough to be called temple, the Temple of Wellem 300 years ago, Corico and Aradanin were in the middle of another one of their numberless conflicts over the Holy City. Suddenly, a second sun appeared in the north and the once livable land turned into a hell hole. Sand bubbled from the ground splashing the plant life as it turned to charcole. Now, it is a vast waistland. Petrifided trees glisten from the glass embedded in them. Small villages hang on by there fing er nails around ancient wells and small oasis. The area is slowly healing.

Geography

THe ancient grasses used to keep the old soils in place and the brush broke the brunt of the wind forces. With those gone the sand moves freely in dunes ever rolling across the horizon. The Wind is known for kicking up sand storms that are not only dangeous for the inability to see but also for the chances of choking as ones lungs fill with sand

Fauna & Flora

Before the Blasting, the Holy Lands were rocky and dry but otherwise livable, filled with grasses and native brush. Now, the old plants are slowly making their return and the pariffery is starting to take back it old look. However the intereror is barron short of small oasis that can be more than a days walk apart. As for Fauna, the edges are home to various wildlife adapted to the hot and dry lands. the interior is largely home to various reptiles such as the "Mole snake" which slither just under the sand to stay out of the sun and the "Sand dragon", a large Omnivorous lizard that has caused great discussion as to just how such a large animal can survive in such a dire location. A notible Execption are the "Uzun Talasthan" or "Tan Jackrabbit, and a breed of Ferril Cat.

Natural Resources

Those who live in the Blasted waists do so with equal amounts of Iron stubbornness and brilliant ingenuity. the best example of this is how they have found ways to make bringing food out into the Waists worthwhile for merchants. Al e'DIma, the largest town in the waist located just on the Corico Border, has a reputation as a place to go for fine glass work, utilizing the unique sand at their feet. Other towns scrape by on hunting the Sand dragons, eatting the flesh and selling the Hides, which are brough back to be crafted into leather works and sold as "Dragon Scale" goods.
