Gov. Sallam of Al e'Dima
Governor and Warden of the Blasted Waists Sallam
Sallam is technically the feudal lord of the entire blasted Waists, which on a map would seem to make him one of the three great lords directly under the King. However, realities of that post mean his titles of "Governor" and "Warden of the Waists" are largely over dramatic for what the man is actually able to accomplish. The Waists are large and Sparsely populated and any attempts to rule them effectively from a central location would only lead to a great amount of frustration for little returns. As such, Sallam has settled into the role of a slightly more powerful then average Local mayor, only exerting direct control over Al e'Dima itself and the observable area outside it's palisades.
The only time he steps out of this is when he is informed that a matter requiring of a higher authority to come in and settle things. Sallam is aware that he likely does not know about a number of the times he should step in, but the only way to find out about them would mean having to constantly have scouts running from one end of the Waists visiting ever little Hamlet of a dozen or so families.

Sallam does not personally see a need for extreme extravagance, and he is painfully aware of how little he would be able to sustain such a habit if he did. However, he also knows it is expected for a man of his standing. As such, Sallam maintains a small closest of expensive clothing for formal occasions and makes sure his daily wear is kept in good condition. His two most outstanding accessories are his grand headdress, a large Turbin like hat with various pins and wires woven in to keep it together, and four rings given to his family long ago.

Sallam has a sword, befitting a man of his station. but given most who know him would be shocked about this is a statement of how little he cares to wear it.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Sallam might seem like a lazy ruler from the outside perspective, but he is just overly aware of the realities of his position. He is a very pratical man who purhapse lets that get in his way of doing what he should but he sees little choice otherwise.
Sallam has a single matter that might get him out of his normal laid back nature is a danger to his people (the inhabitants of Al e'DIma) and in particularly his family. He also sees it as his personal duty to maintain his family in high standing and will show a surprising amount of guile to find susceptible alliances for his sons and marriages for his daughters.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
Sallam is not a fighter and seeks peace in everything he does. However, this does not mean he is not willing to fight, just he knows is it not his strong suit. He prefers to push and prod at people to get what he wants. He is not bellow making one of his daughters act less then respectable if it means she might have a crack at the bed of a prince.
Virtues & Personality perks
Sallam is very good and hiding just how bulled headed and stubborn he can be behind a mask of a weak willed man. His greatest strengths lie in defusing and disarming people, leading them to relax around him and show where their real desires lie. (I.E. The Kings son is chaist, but clearly attracted his his daughter. As strong as his will might be, keep throwing her at him and the hormones will take over.)
Vices & Personality flaws
Sallam's faults break into two forms: either he is not trying enough or he is trying too hard, there is no in between for the man.
In the bigger scope, Sallam refuses to put his or other's effort into keeping track of what is going on in every part of his relm. He does send out occasional messages every year or so to get the broad news, but he figures that things will figure themselves out before he can stick his hand in the pie any way.
ON the personal level, Sallam can be underhanded and pushy. It's so bad that one of his future son-in-laws outright state that he's met horse salesmen with more tack then how blatant Sallam was with trying to hock his daughter on him.
Hygiene
Sallam baths more than once a day (A quick wipe down in the morning and a full wash at the heat of the day) and sees that his cloths are always as immaculate as can be expected.
Social
Family Ties
Sallam is married to his wife and has a number of children, at least three girls and one boy. His eldist Girl, Fahala is the first wife of Ebreim bin Visjund, Eldest son of King Visjund of Aradanin.
Religious Views
Sallam is culturally, Jovan but does not practice often and only occasionally visits the HErmit takeing care of the Shrine outside of town.
Social Aptitude
Sallam is a relaxed Individual and by modern standards would be refereed to as "Chill". He visits his people in much the same air as a neighbor dropping by to see how things are. That said, he is given a modicom of respect by his people as their leader, seeing it much the same as the rest of them apprentacing under a master.
Sallam has been training to administer from birth, they trust he knows what he doing.
Wealth & Financial state
Sallam is the biggest fish in the dirtiest pond. He manages his household well and as such lives comfortably.
