Bog Hollow
A once small and unassuming farming village in the far east territory of Unseelie control has now become the site of particular interest.
Along the river running from Pocosin, The Great Bog, this small village formed as it was a perfect location to take advantage of the river for a logging industry as well as having fertile land for farming. A small town center now sits a small walk from countless farmlands and a few logging camps to the north.
The town has seen a recent surge in new resident as monks, philosophers, and arcanists alike flock to the town for various reasons to live in the town now cursed to remain silent.
History
The towns history has been immeasurably connected to action in the Unseelie Court, but especially the happenings within the Domain of Gloomhaven.
Years ago, the town fell extremely ill with an unknown sickness. Heroes had been called to the town as deliveries of medicine for the elderly and weak had begun to be stolen by highway robbery. It was later uncovered that that it was in fact a magical affliction caused by tainted water from the river. A hag , Hagatha, had been experimenting with dark magics in Gloomhaven and the run-off had been seeping into the river. The heroes worked with the cooperative hag to restore the river and save many downstream residents.
Just before the calling of the Unseelie council, the Domain of Gloomhaven seemed to begin to leak out once again, however this time it was more than just water. Vile and powerful creatures known to be the projections/aspects of the Archfae known as Gloom had escaped from its domain. One such creature, an awakened tree with a horrific creature dubbed "The Lonely One" hung from its branches, attacked and killed many helpless villagers. Nearly suffering some losses, the heroes of Danu managed to take it down. In this process they discovered a strange effect that would invisibly attack anyone who spoke or caused significant noise. It was later thought that the cause of this effect was in fact another aspect of Gloom, now dubbed "The Silent One".
