Kinuani Clinic

In the Sunlit Horizon, it’s often hard to get some proper treatment for a person or their animal companion. There are some hospitals in Kuseya, but they are often full or scary to be in. This is where the Kinuani Clinic steps in. It is a small clinic run by the twins, Iyasu and Imeni Kinuani, who aim to give the most comfortable experience to their patients.   Despite the reputation of both twins, the clinic is hardly ever busy. This means that people get to see the twins for longer, and they get better help than in a hospital, where doctors chase patients away as soon as they recommend some medicine. The calm of the clinic is a far cry from the hectic life of a hospital, and the Kinuani twins prefer it this way.

Committed Care

The twins are both doctors, but they do very different things. Iyasu is a vet and will hug any animal that comes his way, even the larger ones. Imeni is a humanoid doctor and is known for his empathy and general playfulness.   Usually, they stay in their own fields, but whenever one needs help, the other is never too far away. Some patients have said the best care they received was when both twins were together, because their friendliness and banter had calmed them down. The atmosphere is one of the main reasons patients keep coming back. Even if they are not ill, they will always take an opportunity to chat with one twin.
"Every time I went for a check-up, Imeni used to stuff my bag with medicines. Or was that Iyasu? Anyway, the point is if you are very ill, always bring a large bag."
— A former patient
One of the main draws to the Kinuani Clinic is the fact that the doctors are committed to seeing their patients better. They will arrange home visits and drop by to check up on them. Imeni is known for his dogged persistence in getting people to take their medicines, while Iyasu will never drop an opportunity to see an animal. It can seem annoying at first, but when the person or animal feels better, they soon understand why they are persistent.

Hectic Origins

“An elephant stomped our clinic once. Took us months to rebuild. And it wasn’t even the first time our clinic was destroyed.”
— Imeni Kinuani
The clinic was not always this calm. In fact, when it was first set up, many people would storm in with their pets, begging for treatment. Iyasu had originally set up the clinic so he could treat animals without having to go too far from the town of Kuseya. It was the first vet in the Sunlit Horizon, so people were ecstatic and relieved. They no longer had to wait months for a doctor from another land to come and treat their pets when they had a vet at home.   Iyasu was happy to treat all the pets, since he loved animals. His younger brother Imeni, preferred to stay out of the spotlight and let Iyasu handle everything. However, his ambitions of being a doctor did not escape the community, and eventually, Imeni joined his brother at the clinic. While Iyasu focused on the animals, Imeni was more interested in people and treated them instead. The patience and love both brothers had for their patients shone through, and they became very popular.   But the clinic was not without its problems; most of them came from the animals. People had a habit of bringing in large animals and they were often hard to control as they were ill. Each time this happened, a part of the clinic would end up gone. This happened five times, until Iyasu banned larger animals from coming to the clinic, and decided he would go to them instead. After fifth time, the twins decided to move their location so that no-one else around them got hurt. Now, the clinic is further from the centre of Kuseya, but still close enough for them to serve their home town.
