Light

Without another word, she leaned forward and eased her hands into the glowing pool. The substance was strange, almost like water but it drifted around her hands like smoke. She scooped a handful, and that very handful illuminated the faces of all the people around her. A wellspring of daylight had been found.

Manifestation

Daylight

Borders between fluid, gas, and plasma-like substance, warm but cool enough to hold in your hands. Wellsprings are common, and it can be created using magic. Wellspring sources tend to be more liquid than spell created daylight.

Moonlight

Still borders liquid and gas, however it is more fluid than daylight until applied in a spell. Rare. Many myths such as The Moonlight Giants of The Deep claim that moonlight reveals hidden things, but that myth has never been proven.

Sunlight

Closer to fire plasma, far too hot to touch. Imagine a putty that you could mould into different shapes, and it would keep that shape until it melted. Now imagine that putty was made of fire.

Fire

Your typical garden variety fire. Burns when oxygen is present etc. The most common light source alongside Daylight, more common with outsider communities who don't have access to a wellspring or a community who uses a wellspring.

Starlight/Stardust

A type of dust that is the residue of light spells. When collected and compressed it creates a source of "Starlight" which is most often used as a temporary path marker, or disposable torch. The starlight resembles a small crystal with a pale glow.
