Bear Flat
Located in the middle of the Beachan Plains, Bear Flat is sourrounded by around a hundred miles of flat, empty grasslands. It is a peaceful farming village, with vast herds of sheep and cattle- who outnumber the residents by a factor of at least 100:1.
Bear Flat is most known for it's working dogs- huge mastiff-like dogs with remarkably shaggy coats who guard the sheep from the wolves and bears that prowl the plains. They are rarely sold outside the village, and it usually takes either great influence or great favour to get one of the Beachan Bear Dogs as your own.

Industry & Trade
Wool is the village's main export, although there is a good trade in raising cattle to drive to Lowbank for meat and leather.
Tourism
A small inn and a blacksmith are the only concession to tourism here.
Architecture
Sprawling stone cottages with turf roofs are arranged around a central crossroads. Many have walled gardens with fruit and vegetables growing within, and the roads are unusually wide to accommodate the drivers moving livestock through on a regular basis.
Large wooden barns surround the village, most empty throughout the majority of the year but filled with animals over the few cold winter months.
