Enchanting & Magical Item Crafting

Enchanting is the art of enhancing a piece of equipment with permanent magic. Modern day enchanting relies on the Blood Crystal fusing technologies of the Scoria in order to keep the enchantment ongoing by constantly providing it Blood Crystal adjacency.


A whole different breed is the making of Magical Items. A proper Magical Item cannot be created without Essence, that has to be taken out of already existing Magical Items, meaning that for a new Magical Item to be created, another has to be destroyed. The forging process is incredibly complex, only the best of the best Artificers are able to do it. The stronger a Magical Item is, the harder it is to make without accidentally messing it up and creating a Cursed item.

There was a breakthrough during the Age of Exploration where dali noticed that Silver weapons hurt monsters more. Even though it has no relation to the processes used today, it is still considered the first and oldest form of enchanting: coating your weapons in Silver.
