Waterdeep Market Building / Landmark in D&D Forgotten Realms | World Anvil

Waterdeep Market

The Market lies between Trader’s Way and Bazaar street at the northernmost edge of the Castle Ward. It is the largest open area of the city, and plays host to hundreds of stalls and camped vendors able to sell nearly anything in the Realms, and many thieves to relieve one of same.

It is full of merchants carts and stalls both day and night and was the best place in the city to find a good price for any trade good found in Faerûn, assuming one had some skill at haggling.

The Cynosure
The Western side are dominated by the large buildings of the Cynosure Over a century ago, the The Lords of Waterdeep annexed this former temple building and put it to use as a public hall, available for rent by nobles and wealthy merchants for parties, balls, weddings, and other events.

Myrul’s Ruins. The area directly abutting the Cynosure’s marble edifice is where the god Myrkul was destroyed during the Time of Troubles. It was never rebuilt to avoid the ire of the god of death. It is nearly magic-neutral, even after the events of the Spellplague, and thus is a popular place for rival wizards to meet.
