Arcanus Character in D&D Forgotten Realms | World Anvil

Arcanus

A powerful wizard who lived in the land of Thay during the beginning of it's founding. He was known for his brilliant mind and his ambitious nature, and he spent much of his time studying ancient tomes and scrolls, and experimenting with various magical techniques.

Despite his great power and influence, Arcanus was not without his flaws. He was known to be ruthless and self-serving, and he was not above using his magic to further his own goals.

As a result of his tireless efforts, Arcanus became one of the most powerful mages in all of Thay, being appointed as the Archpriest of Knowledge Acquisition and reporting directly to Thayd, the founder of the Society. His knowledge and skills were greatly sought after, and he was frequently called upon to consult on matters of magic and sorcery. He was also a skilled teacher, and many young mages looked up to him as a mentor and guide.

One day, Arcanus had a breakthrough. He discovered a way to create a book that could hold an infinite amount of knowledge within its pages. He spent years perfecting the spell, and when it was finally complete, he created The Tome of Endless Knowledge.

After creating the Tome of Endless Knowledge, and using it to rise to power, Arcanus disappeared from the annals of history, leaving behind only his legacy and the powerful magical tool he had created. The whereabouts of the tome after it left Arcanus's possession are not clear, but it is likely that it passed through many hands before it came into the possession of its current owner.
