The Harpy Cliffs

Hundreds of sleek forms swoop down to the water, snatching their prey in sharp talons and bringing it back to their nests.   The cliffs below Izarren Lurrak provide a perfect nesting ground for harpies, with narrow ledges and treacherous seas devolving into fractal patterns of fjords and waterfalls from the regular storms.   Blue and bronze dragons also fight over the plentiful caves that dot the cliffs, forced to settle for the higher caves due to the massive creatures that dwell within the depths of Uthalos’ oceans.

Geography

The cliffs are exceedingly barren and steep, with the frequent storms stripping all but the toughest vegetation from the narrow ledges.   Due to the varying types of rock within the cliffs, a myriad of steep waterfalls and fjords can be found between solitary pillars of rock, and deep caves.   Navigating the cliffs is extremely difficult without proper climbing gear, with the lower sections being very slippery, and vulnerable to opportunistic sea creatures.

Fauna & Flora

Very little vegetation can survive on the cliffs, mostly consisting of small, woody shrubs and herbs, that can handle the high salinity and sparse soils.   Most of the fauna on the cliffs are harpies, as they sometimes also prey on birds if they are hungry enough, however blue and bronze dragons also make their lairs in the cliffs. Dragon turtles and kraken fight beneath the waves, with smaller creatures hiding in their wake and making their homes in the cracks left by their battles.

Natural Resources

Most of the resources available on the cliffs are due to the fauna. Harpy bodies can be used for a variety of uses, however the true gems of this area are the dragon lairs, for anyone brave enough to claim them.
