Kitsune Armed Forces
Branches of the military -
7 key branches, as follows: Space Fleet Ground Forces Special Operations and Tactics (SOAT) Blackguard (Blacksite Security and Containment Force, BSCF) Royal Guard Formation (RGF) Royal Guard Air Force (RGAF) Ice Search and Rescue Unit (ISRU) Velpes Defence Force (VDF)supported openly by successive Rupeean and Sestian governments but independent of either, the Vulpes Defence Force are a militarised wildlife control (or more often, monster hunting) organisation formed to protect civilian populations from the often very large and aggressive predators found on their homeworlds. While officially neutral, the VDF is both a source of national prestige and valuable recruiting ground for highly trained and experienced combat personnel.
Composition
Equipment
Equipment is tested with a high degree of scrutiny, making full use of the wide variety of environments available within Sestian space. New equipment is directly military-designed, and emphasises mobility over all and firepower over protection.

Tactics
RoE - Sestian planetary warfare traditionally includes providing for civilian populations, including ‘enemy’ populations. However following one regrettable incident when an alien colony world they were blockading received a shipment of (highly lethal) Sestian booze, with nearly 100% casualties, the practice has been heavily restricted.
Doctrine - heavily schwerpunkt influenced. Sestian offensive strategy emphasises creating a breach in enemy lines (whether a planetary trench line or a row of fortified systems) and exploiting. Defensive strategy relies on a highly mobile reaction force that supports tremendous fortresses.
