Temple of the Morninglord

A temple dedicated to the The Morninglord, previously overseen by Father Donovich and his son Doru. After the death of both Hershel Ramenski, a newly created cleric of the Morninglord and his wife Mary Ramenski, a aspiring Paladin of Tempus now oversee the temple.

Purpose / Function

This is one of the few remaining temples to the The Morninglord in Ravenloft. It is one of the largest buildings in the town as it is also fortified and warded against the undead, it is large enough to house the population of the town in case of emergency.

Defenses

The warding on the building has been destroyed. It is being slowly restored by Hershel and Mary.

History

The temple has been standing since before the mist and has acted as a sanctuary from the undead and evil forces in the Barovian Basin. It was used as a base of operations for the Order of the Wolf before they were forced into hiding. In recent years Father Donovich was appointed as head cleric and has been living in the temple with his son Doru. Doru, went missing several months before the party arrived.
Unbeknownst to the village, Doru returned several weeks after he went missing. Corrupted in the castle, Doru returned as a Vampire spawn. Donovich locked his son in the under croft of the temple where Doru slowly influenced his father into finding him sources of food. This later escalated to Donovich abducting the poor and vulnerable in the village to feed his son.
The party, suspicious of Donovich, found evidence of a recent abduction at the medical clinic that pointed to the temple. The party reclaimed the temple, Donovich and Doru did not survive the encounter.
