The Southern Farmers
The farmers living along Foxfield Road are the southern farmers. Heading south out of town, the farms are frequent, right up until one reaches the Missituk River and the Aylesbury Pike beyond.
The southern farmers have historically done better than their northern counterparts since the loss of the mill and its revenue. Reducing the size of their sheep herds, the southern farmers were able to convert much of their land, rock–filled as it is, to food crops.
Most are Unitarians and backers of the timber leases. Family names include Abbott, Parker, Sawyer, Sutler, and Taggert.
