It is true that he can be narcissistic, vain, self-absorbed, and arrogant, but he's also loyal, brave, fearless, encouraging, and a true friend to any he bonds with. Always ready for a meal, a roll about with a pretty lady, or a good dust up, Miggs is annoying to many, idolized by a few, but dismissed by none. He had a rough time through the second world war, which some detect in his seeming obsession with "Jerry Screws" which seemingly only he can hear from time to time while at sea. His two closest friends are Chief Tom Dundley (Chief) and Deuteronomy (Doots).
