Sandy Terminal
The Apostate Acropolis, Sandy Terminal looms over the the Abyssal bay in the north of Orden. Built upon a defunct drilling platform, Sandy Terminal is the refuge of all those exiled by The Creadores. These Cismadores, as they call themselves, have rallied behind the Thief God, Virtuoso, and desperately battle against the Phyte, raiders, and the gods themselves in order to bring the world back from the brink.
Government
The official governmental structure of Sandy Terminal is that of the Cismadores.
Defences
The city, in addition to being connected by a thin isthmus of land to the continent, is protected by the Shining Dawn, an old lighthouse which was converted into a fortress due to the continuous threat of raids. Additionally, nearly every citizen in Sandy Terminal carries one or more weapons at any given time.
Infrastructure
The original drilling platform's factory, useless in the current situation has been repurposed, and it now acts as the city's hangar, mechanic, and armory. The original living quarters have been repurposed as barracks for the active duty Dustcombers. From there, the city grew vertically, with each terrace being dedicated equally to living, commerce, and manufacturing. The higher you go, the cheaper it is to live.
History
Once the defunct remains of an old drilling platform, Sandy Terminal's had a sporadic population of gangs, squatters, and other ne'er-do-wells over the centuries. It wasn't until the concerted efforts of the Cismadores that it was firmly established as a city. As more people became disillusioned with the Creadores or were banished for various crimes, Sandy Terminal began to outgrow it's relatively small footprint, so they did what they had to do, and began building vertically. The result is the towering city of today, with buildings and streets terraced upon one another like some massive skyscraper.
Architecture
Despite being slightly ramshackle in nature, Sandy Terminal's buildings and terraces are uniform in composition and utilize the same aesthetics. vertical lines and soft rounded edges dominate the metal buildings. The walkways are recycled brick and sandstone. Rust is an issue, due to the constant humidity from the sea, and as such, the denizens are constantly on guard, scrubbing away any oxidation and covering it with protective paints.
Geography
Entirely manmade in nature, Sandy Terminal is built upon an ancient, defunct spar drilling platform. The platform was originally built in the Golden Era, with technology which would allow it to adjust its buoyancy depending on its cargo. The platform itself was a three story factory with utilities with six uniform sub-platforms extending from it where the living quarters were found. Guided by Virtuoso, the Cismadores built new buildings on top of the platform, being careful to keep the balance of the platform in mind.
