Church of New Light
The Church of New Light was founded by Holy Saint Peter Henry in the year A4 998, following the successful liberation of the small hamlet of Zuu from the control of an evil Rakshasa known as "The Keeper." In recognition of their gratitude, the people of Zuu elected Peter and his party to rule over them as the first followers of the New Light. The Church of New Light is now dedicated to spreading the teachings of the deity known as the White Lady, or Laydi'wahni in the ancient tongue, with a focus on bringing hope and healing to those who have suffered during difficult times. Its members are known for their charitable and selfless nature, working tirelessly to bring comfort and assistance to those in need.
PHILOSOPHY
The Church of New Light is a religion founded on the belief in the deity known as Laydi'wahni , or "The White Lady." This religion aims to guide humanity towards a brighter future by offering a more compassionate and understanding interpretation of the teachings found in the Holy White Book. Unlike the traditional Hamarian orthodox Church of White Light, which has focused on destroying evil without exception, the Church of New Light emphasizes the importance of personal change and redemption. In addition to following the teachings of the Holy White Book, the Church of New Light also incorporates the Book of Peter, a collection of writings about the life of Saint Peter, as a central part of its teachings. This religion does not rely on DredLight Clerics or armed executioners to enforce its laws, instead focusing on the role of its clerics in healing and spreading light throughout the world. The Church of New Light believes that through personal transformation and the spread of light, it can bring about a more harmonious and peaceful world.Creation
The hamlet of Zuu was a small community of 100 farmers and settlers who lived in fear for four long years. They were controlled by a Rakshasa, a monstrous creature disguised as a human high cleric of Osheena, the Goddess of the Deep. This ancient evil used Zuu and its people to serve its own needs by forcing them to locate and bring "tainted sinners" to it, claiming to "cleanse" them of their sins. However, the Rakshasa secretly ate these people for its own pleasure. But in the year A4 998, a group of brave heroes arrived in Zuu. Peter and Ben Henry, along with Tanner Smith and Prince Keyo Lafayahquay, were determined to put an end to the Rakshasa's reign of terror. After a fierce battle, they were able to defeat the monster and drive it out of Zuu, bringing relief and hope to the people of the hamlet. At that moment the first church of New Light was declared in the humble church of the hamlet and the people of Zuu became its first followers.THE FIRST CHURCH
The first church of New Light is a physical building, located in the renamed town of New Light, that was originally constructed by local farmers in A4 920 as a place to worship Laydi'wahni, the White Lady. However, the building was later taken over by an evil force and used for nefarious purposes. In A4 998, it was reclaimed and cleansed by heroic adventurers, and has since been used as a place of worship for followers of the New Light. The building is refurbished and maintained by indebted Gnomes, and serves as a beacon of hope and faith for the community of the newly named town of New Light.
