Session 56 Report
General Summary
The party ventured into the desert once more with a bit more luck this time as Texas was helped by Ephraim in navigating the desert. They never felt like they got lost at any point and after two days of travel they set camp in an ancient tomb belonging to a member of a mysterious civilization that disappeared around 1500-2000 years ago.
While in the open chamber of this tomb their campfire conversations were disrupted by thé stars performing a play about the person buried there's life. The play showed a king fighting to defend his people and ultimately falling in battle as an enormous foe came to end his reign. At the end of the play they saw one of the stars falling and landing inside the grave, where Corron then picked it up and absorbed it.
Corron then saw a vision of ancient desert dwelling elves living in a mighty kingdom within the Selmora. The king appeared to have been a warrior that would lead his army from the front lines, an army that was at least a thousand man strong and equipped with ornate leather armor adorned with shimmering gems. The kings reign ended when the Great Wyrm Nokzalys came to ravage the land that the king had fought so many times to defend. In his final moments, the king swore vengeance against the dragon, and the vision ended.
The day after having rested at the burial site, the party reached the Five Pillars, an oasis seemingly taken out of ones most pleasant dreams. Five monoliths, each around 20 meters high pour out liquid that coalesces into a shimmering pond at the center. The pond is surrounded by lush nature and exotic plants of all kinds, and a few finely crafted houses made out of white marble with golden veins. The liquid coming out of each monolith supposedly represent the different sources of magical power and the crystal clear liquid within the central lake is the pure magic that results when there is no noticeable taint from any one particular source. Sapphire blue represents arcane, emerald green represents primal, gold represents divine, ruby red represents fiendish, and onyx black represents cosmic or otherwise otherworldly. The small buildings all seem to be a lot bigger on the inside than what their outside appearance would suggest, all but the Seldarine temple which is a noticeably larger building than the rest. Some distance outside of the main village stands a much larger monolith that the party is yet to hear the function of.
When the party reached the Five Pillars they quickly split up after having talked to one of the locals who gave Corron directions to the Seldarine temple. While Corron went to go talk with the sand elf priest there, the rest of the party stayed to have their souls read by a man named Savaran who used to be an archmage in Oceavisum before travelling here around 50 years ago. After having talked to Savaran, they all went to the library and were shortly joined by Corron.
