Dude

What was once a lowly bow, bought as a birthday present; it is now a powerful and famous weapon, wielded by the famed ranger and Guildmaster, Webley Tealeaf. It's name is almost as famous as the man himself. It is Webley's most prized possession and has become something of the ranger's symbol.
Webley was gifted a bow by his father on his thirteenth birthday, it was nothing special. A back of yew and a bowstring made of cheap twine. The grip was made with hastily wrapped leather and a nocking point was never fastened. Even in its state, the bow was from Webley's father, one of few things he ever got from him; one of the few memories of him. This made the bow somewhat sentimental to Webley. One day when preparing for an adventure, the magic item salesmen, the Skeleton Merchants, gave him the option to replace his bow with a more powerful and magical one; this meant that Webley would have to make a tough decision: replace his bow with one which would be of far more use, or to reject the offer and be greatly unequipped on his future adventures. Eventually, Webley came to a decision with the Skeleton Merchants to have his own bow enchanted. They agreed to this, for an extra fee.
Mostly Dude is like any other longbow of its type, it can have arrows loaded onto its string and have them released at great speeds towards targets. However when the bow releases it's normal ammunition, it deals more damage because the magic in the bow provides the string with a little extra energy when releasing. However, when the bow is activated, it can release a magical arrow in the shape of a surfboard made of lightning towards a target. This deals a lot of damage, but can only be used twice a day for the bow has to have time to get its energy back. In its active state, the runes on the side of the bow start glowing a blue/white colour and a magical strip starts flowing around the grip, extending slightly up the wrists of whoever is wielding it.
A little-known fact about Dude is its sentience. When Dude was enchanted it not only became powerful physically, but it also gained conscience and began to develop a personality and feelings. It also has the ability to speak, though only telepathically. The main reason why not many people know that Dude is sentient is that Dude usually only decides to speak to his wielder, Webley.
