Mortal

Mortals serve a manifold purpose to Kindred. They ground a vampire, allowing the dead to maintain contact with life. They act as food, their blood infinitely more nourishing than that of any beast. But sometimes, they act as surprising predators. Mortals are not content to be pushed around, fed from, and discarded. They fight back. Some discover the existence of Kindred and resolve to burn them from their havens. Others simply wish to maintain order, go about their lives, or lead other kine as teachers, leaders, and spiritual guides. Any of them might pose a threat to an individual vampire, or group of neonates.
