Arceleron

"The lands are lush and green in the center while the south is warm to an almost tropical climate. The Mysterious Tar"Sypher inhabit those lands in the deep south with the Swamp Elves have lived in the south-eastern parts for most of known history. The Fjordwalkers and mystical Wood Elves inhabit the colder and unknown north, where nature rules above all." - Aurelian Scholar, 1543

Geography

Arceleron is a continent with a multitude of biomes and different regions that are so different from one another that it would almost seem as if they were not in the same region. The north of the continent is known to be much colder and harsher than any other place on the continent. The further north one goes, the more freezing and barren it becomes, almost similar if at times not worse than the known northern Dwarven Principalities of Aldevaria. If one would go down south, you would meet more temperate, humid and warmer regions, in comparison to the warm region of Aeloth. Here are the regions within Arceleron.

The Core Regions

Belonging to the Aurelian Kingdom

  • Turelykios: The capital region of the Aurelian Kingdom. It encompasses the city of Herald's Dusk and its hinterlands.
  • Epharven: The south-central lands of the kingdom. Heart of the economy as it is right at the crossroads with the Tar'Sypher, Melgari and the primary road to Gaana Thalor.
  • Tedawen: The Eastern region, using the Dragonbreath Mountains as a natural border. Known for its heavy industries, sprawling work facilities and ancient ruins.
  • Metaphokas: The south-eastern region. Known for its tranquil farmlands and artisanal workers. The primary region for entering through Lymot.
  • Levenia: The northern region of the Kingdom, bordering the lush thick forests of Maënen and the cold steppes and plains of the Fjordwalkers.

Belonging to the Dûrvonir

  • Dragonbreath Mountains: A mountain range in the east that acts as a natural border between the Aurelian Kingdom and the Meldari Colony of Ghaana Thalor. The mountain range has tall spike-shaped mountains and branches into the Dragontail foothills that spans the center and southern regions. No man to this date has been able to cross the mountains and have always been forced to cross the southern opening in order to access the opposite site. The heart of the mountain range is home to the Dûrvonir, a race of Dragon-made humanoids, living eternal lives as hermits in the depths of the mountains. The Dragon-Goddess known as the Dûrvonikras resides in the deepest hidden cores of the stomach of the tallest mountain. The heat she emits has caused the lands east of the mountains to become mostly devoid of flora and has opened crevices and deeply hidden cave systems which allowed for mines to sprung up.

The Lower Lands

Belonging to the Meldari Dominion

  • Gaana Thalor Expansion: a vast piece of land to the east of the Dragonbreath Mountains, bordering the Contested lands of the Tar'Sypher. The Gaana Thalor Expansion has been established after the Death March where the Kaer'Ist have been attacking the eastern shores of Arceleron. Established to protect the area, it now serves as a location filled with mines to empty the mountains and acquiring more land by kicking out the Tar'Sypher Tribes. A very controversial region, it has been the topic of many political discussions between the factions of Arceleron.
