Maënen

Maënen, is a densely forested, sub-tropical region that encompasses the Northeastern coastal plain of Arceleron. In the words of Fulgor's Guide to Civilizations, Maënen is "a sea of endless green, a maze of foliage with half-hidden cities growing like blooms from a flower, the home of the Melgari is Arceleron's garden." One unusual feature of Maënen is its gigantic, migratory trees, many so large that the Melgari have built entire cities in their branches. Sylvaestir is one such tree, a more than gargantuan specimen that serves as the capital of Maënen and seat of its kings and queens.

Maënen borders The Aurelian Kingdom to the south and the Fjordwalker Chiefdom to the north, partially divided from the latter by the Fryg River, and is just across the sea from Aldevaria. Its landscape consists mainly of rolling hills and light blue rivers, predominantly covered in rainforest and woodland.
Maënen consists of five main regions: Witlands, Begana, Derava, Vevenia and Provern.
History
Maënen, as a jungle, was home to some quite interesting creatures. Fulgor's Guide to Civilizations gives a list of these: "Before man or Mel came to Maënen, it was home to a wide array of creatures and strange civilizations. Myrvonir, sathyrions, Tauri, giants, and intelligent apes all flourished there before the first Melgari stepped onto its lands." Like all Mel, the Melgari had to adapt to their environment. For the support of Khadras, in helping them adapt, the Melgari promised not to harm the forest. The first king of Maënen, who started the Serethian Dynasty, was King Serath. He succeeded in uniting the wild and unruly Melgari.
Military
Although Maënen doesn't appear to have a unified military force of it's own, for much of it's history it has been part of and protected by the Royal Military.
The Royal Military is a military force made up of soldiers from the tribes and families of Maënen. Each tribe is also known to use a variety of different tactics in one-on-one combat, but the Melgari are known to attack from different sides or use bows and arrows to defeat their opponent.
