Qian Yihua, Thousand-and-One Petals
Discovered Beneath the Veil of Dark Water, the prison cells of Never-Ending Remembrance, the Underworld manse of The Virtuosa Peering Deep into Darkness Dreaming of Labyrinthine Secrets Bound Within, Qian Yihua was suffering from long-term deprivation.
She claims to be the daughter of Thousand Eyes Together as One and Thrice-Resplendant Violet (the previous bearer of the Exaltation of Sovereign of Shattered Dreams and Nightmares), as well as the Chosen of Renewal (Exalted by Yara, the Mother of Rebirth). Thousand-and-One Petals claims to be from a world where the Usurpation never occured, and some great darkness called the Calamity was averted; she seeks to return this world to that better state. She has displayed several gifts, including restoring a memory of the First Age within Bophu and extracting a green jade fellsting (artifact rapier) from a plum blossom tree within the garden of Sovereign's Gullwing estate. In each case, her anima manifested as a swirl of plum-blossom pink. Qian Yihua has implied that she inherited gifts from her parents, but their specific nature is as of yet unknown. When she first met with Thousand Eyes, she was able to describe his spirit form and answer a great number of his probing questions on sorcery (including her preferred school of thought, though she stated she now considered herself more of a Salinian, despite her Devonian upbringing she said she had been struggling with similar adaptations to her sorcery to this new broken age. The next morning, Sovereign and Qian sparred, revealing that the 'daughter' had had some training in both unarmed and armed (slashing sword) combat, each of a different style.
Thousand-and-One Petals has stated that she is willing to help her parents deal with this current threat, so that they might aid her with her own need to heal the world afterwards.
During a gathering [aboard The Mournful and on the way to the first Lighthouse of Okeanos] to hear a series of tales of the Caul told by Bophu, Ardent Swan took note of her when she remarked how shocking, how terrible it was for members of the Exalted Host to fight thusly. Ardent Swan seemed perplexed, silently studied her for a minute, then left. Sovereign followed, questioned the Joybringer, and discovered that he suspected Qian Yihua of being a 'Black Flag,' some sort of threat. Later, in the dream manse, Sublime Heart learned that both Penzai and Swallow in Saffron had been appised of Swan's suspicions.
