Scyreweed Fire Sacs (Sky-er-weed)

"Instant self immolation is a small price to pay for the best dish of lamb and cabbage you ever had."   -Shallannitay Kalinternin, Head Chef for the Royal Palace of Palan Voyd
The interior of Palan Voyd is largely unknown and unexplored, mainly due to rampaging beasts and mind bending haunts that were let loose there centuries ago. But, for the very brave and very foolhardy, a delicacy of royal esteem can be found. Deep inside the foliage of the Scyreweed plant can be found a gelatinous sac of spice and nectar that can only be a gift from the Great God himself.   Scyreweed once grew everywhere on Palan Voyd but the Voy Diurne were never ones to let Creation go untampered with. Their experiments with the magical properties of Arcanum are legendary. So extreme was their curiosity and drive for experimentation that they largely made the interior of their continent uninhabitable by letting loose all sorts of unnatural animals, plants, and spirits.   One of those experiments was taking the simple Scyreweed and changing it into a bush nearly five armslengths high. The curling fronds are large, flat, and such a dark green as to be almost black. As one peels back the fronds and their branches a bright orange fibrous sac about an armslength long will be revealed. Inside this is a goopy liquid that is agreed by all to be the tastiest flavoring in all of Creation. However, one must be careful not to peel away fronds to quickly as the sac will rupture and burst open with a gout of flame that will destroy the plant and the harvester in an instant.   Only a true master of the culinary arts will be able to collect and properly use the fire sac. Once it has been separated successfully from its mother trunk it must rest in a cool spot until the color changes to dark orange. Only then is it safe to grate into a powder, but accidents have been known to happen.   Once in powder form it can be sprinkled on meats, vegetables, and added to soups. Pairs well with Voy Diurne potato wine.
