Centerlands Common - Eovoresh

As the most spoken and understood language in the Centerlands, Eovoresh (stemming from Old Eolian, Old Eshian, and Old Voranic) is known simply as Common throughout most of Creacia, even on other continents. It became the dominant Human language during the ascendency of the Voran Empire under Baenric the Bold, eventually codified by Lioric the Pious in 1580 AFR as the official language of the Voran Church. Originally called Voranic by the Church, it was renamed Eovoresh after the fall of the Empire at the Accord of Solace in 2230 AFR as an homage to the three ancestral languages.   Although more guttural and less flowing than their Elven ancestor, all three base languages share a distant resemblance to Aeonesti, the mother of all goodly, terrestrial languages of Creacia. Eovoresh became progressively more consonant-heavy and grammatically simple throughout the rule of the Voran Empire, also absorbing elements from conquered peoples, especially Kothic, Caleadan, and Arenundim. Linguists now consider it the ultimate hybrid of all languages, perhaps contributing to its success throughout Creacia.   The written form of Eovoresh has used the Eolic Alphabet since the Voran Empire adopted it in the mid 1700s, replacing the Hycin Alphabet, the foundation of all Human scripts and the form used by the Acadeum.
