The Viceroyalty

Before Zymond Rezian moved the Imperial capitol, the Lake Province was governed by a viceroy. Now the viceroys are powerless and redundant figureheads whose roles are largely ceremonial.
Viceroy Tyra Valiant was selected for the office a few years ago for her managerial talent, years of service, and apparent loyalty to the Empire.
When the Emperor died, she moved quickly. Her soldiers, backed by ordinary citizens, drove the The Capitol Legion and the The Emperor's Viziers out of the province's capitol, Starkov.
Since then, she has solidified her grip on the reins of power. She has formally become the Imperial Regent and is currently the highest recognized authority in the Empire. The Legion now answers to her, and the Viziers are dead or in hiding.
She spends most of her time coordinating reconstruction efforts in the Lake Province, and corresponding with governors and viceroys in other parts of the Empire.
