Galactic Unification Era

The Galactic Unification Era, also known as the Unification Era, is a series of approximately 2 centuries where the United Terran Federation officially cemented their allies in a new supranational federation, waged war against rivals, and overcame several crises that emerged.

The United Terran Federation realized that in order to prosper and overcome in a universe with untold adversaries. It took several months of political machinations, diplomatic meetings, and at times a modicum of strong arming, but eventually, the United Federation of Nations was proclaimed, consisting of dozens of nations, with the United Terran Federation as acting president.    This change in the galactic power structure sent ripples across the galaxy. Many Malignant empires would demand and issue ultimatums with the aim that the Federation disband. Rather than wait for the inevitable, the United Federation of Nations carried out several preemptive strikes, interventions, and declarations of wars against dozens of malevolent empires and other spacefaring civilizations consisting of slavers, marauders, pirates, cults, despots, etc. Many cynics estimated that the war would draw out for decades and that the federation could not fight a war on several fronts. Instead, the reforms that the federation issued, combined with the military strength of the newfound Federation, ensured a total victory for the Federation in just under 3 years. The newly conquered worlds and empires were allowed to set up their own sectors with the condition that they conform to provisions and regulations set forth by the Federation. This ensued a steady assimilation and transition of power.   Foreign Affairs aside, the UTF, now backed with the complete power of the United Federation of Nations, would begin to massive projects: The Kardashev Initiative and the Great Bulwark.   The Kardashev Initiative was a bold and costly project that would be a drain of Federation resources for decades, but pay back exponentially in the long run. The Initiative was a joint civilian and military project between all federation members that would see the construction of several megastructures throughout the Milky Way. Dyson Spheres, Ring Worlds, Matrioshka Brains, and dozens of other colossal projects would further secure the federation's position as a galactic superpower rivaling even the enigmatic Fallen Empires.    The Great Bulwark was another daunting tasks and a logistical nightmare for the bureaucrats responsible for building and maintaining the project details. Massive Solar stations were to be built at key strategic locations such as gateways, L-gates, wormholes, enclaves, and colonies. These stations would be massive hubs of trade, bastions, research, naval bases, or shipyards depending on optimal performance. Another minor part of the project was Task Force Hunter. Hunter was a select group of strike forces sent to clear out remaining holdouts of hostile space entities that could not be pacified, such as the leviathans, void clouds, ancient mining drones, and other hostile entities.   During this era several Crisis-level designations would rise that would threaten the galaxy and its denizens. Some of them include the Great Khan, the Gray Tempest, and the Katzenartig Imperium.
