Gods, I think that encounter with the displaced beasts

Off Target

Well it seems as though my mishap with injuring that man Celeste keeps in her company is water under the bridge thankfully. He went off to go participate within the archery tournament that Sinewise also was signing herself up for, and we were left to our own devices to watch Gitrog— though new company had made their way over to where mine and Asha’s humble tent was set up. What seemed to be a rich man of sorts, perhaps a lord if I recall correctly, named Kettlewick had his fortune read by Asha and another man by the name of Alastor Blackwood. I believe I recognized him all by his lonesome from the camp that Lord Borsmont was leading, however when I brought it up he denied it and I thought that was strange because the armor he dons is quite unique being pitch black like that.. though I simply let it go feeling as though I had only mistake his presence for somebody else.   While we were watching Gitrog, he suddenly ran off into the woods that the archery competition was being held in and, all of the credit going to his impressive instincts, we ran right into Sinewise and the other contestants being attacked! Celeste called the creatures… displacer beasts, I believe? She made note of them not being from the current area we resided in, and apparently there was a strange man following them as well. My memory of such a thing is hazy, unfortunately, because while I was keeping an eye on Asha one of them had used its tail to bash me upside the head and knock me out. When I came to they were dealt with and yet another Lord, Lord Hemlocke he introduced himself as, came to us and asked us of our allegiances. Well, we were all obviously perfect strangers to ourselves and the land so I suppose he felt it safe to disclose to us about something mysterious about these beasts and how he thought they may be involved in the death of his mother. He asked us to keep quiet on this theory of his and act as if we knew nothing about the beasts that attacked us… Though while he was talking, I couldn't help but notice that the bags under his eye were rather big and that his scars were very recent and made a point to ask about them late after a few other nobles showed up and declared the incident an investigation of sorts. When I pulled Hemlocke aside, he mentioned that he had died and that his mother brought him back to life with something called Ambrosia… I’d never heard of such a thing before and it’s definitely something that has caught my attention I believe. He made mention of trying to win favor with his host to get us to stay in a close quarters with him so we could meet again.   I feel a bit wary of all of this on, but Asha seems intrigued about it and wants to be open to whatever fate brings us… Who am I to rob her of such an experience? Hopefully this excursion isn’t anything mindbogglingly dangerous or particularly entangling, right? Noblefolk are surely nothing but direct and straight to the point, yes?

New Beginnings (S1)

It has been a bit since I’ve found myself time to write within my journal, however I’ve found myself unsurprisingly indisposed on during our trek to Honeyhive I believe it was. The lands are unlike anything I’ve ever seen before— so full of life and different greenery and fauna, every bush filled with different critters so lively. That being said, even if the Meadows are chock full of life around every turn and bend, I still can’t seem to be able to find anything sufficient to hunt whatsoever, Perhaps the wildlife here have keener senses and can smell the ash that has permeated in our clothes. Sinewise and the cute little cleric she was traveling with have been nothing beneath helpful. There have been a couple of times that she has exercised her expertise in wielding a bow and arrow, and I must say I am simultaneously jealous and relieved. I hate to think of how we would have ended up should we have all met under…. Other… circumstances…   We ran into a bit of a camp that I suppose a Lord was traveling with and he invited us to travel with them for the rest of the half day seeing as there are safety in numbers. Our group agreed and we all made it to Honeyhive safe and sound, just in time for the archery tournament Sinewise was speaking of. We agreed to watch her precious Gitrog (or more like Asha agreed, however I find myself unable to tell her no to experiencing new things) and found a tent for ourselves to camp in so Asha could tell her fortunes, and business came quickly! A quite rugged man with a nice voice and a woman with the most beautiful split eyes came to ask for their fortunes from Asha and stayed to visit for a little bit. I heard the man’s name in passing— Calum— and the woman introduced herself as Celeste, and told us of their business pursuit of Celeste’s inventions that I believe Calum said he was going to advertise. I’m afraid I put a bit of a damper on the mood, however, because I had accidentally thrown a dagger clean through Calum’s enchanted cloak and hit him right in the chest. I used some magic to heal him, however I can’t shake the encounter from my head. I hope he doesn’t hold it against me— Gods.
