Session 26 - Cursebreakers Incorporated
General Summary
The session follows right where the last ended off, with the party eating their pie and catching Violet and Celeste up on the situation with Holly. The party decides that they want to try and cure the girl’s lycanthropy as Violet, given a night to prepare, would be able to use Remove Curse to hopefully elevate part of the struggle. Of course, given the nature of Lycanthropy being a curse which develops over time, there’s no guarantee of anything. But, given there’s no material cost, it never hurts to try.
Together, the party and Holly agree to meet the next day at a tavern a little ways out into the lower districts of western Drakenmarch called the Roost. Holly knows the owner of the tavern and a great understanding of the city, so it’s a convenient location.
Around this time Aenyr returns, looking smug at their discovery but doesn’t really say much about it. Aenyr tells the party that they have most of the day off for their speedy work. He ruffles Holly’s hair, gets his cheeks affectionately pinched by the older couple, and makes his way off back to the castle.
As the party leaves, the farming couple gives them a strawberry pie to take home and wishes them well.
Briefly, the party is shown around Drakenmarch, with some areas of note being:
Finally, the party returns to the barracks and gets a good night's rest before attending to their morning matters. Following morning training, they head to the Roost to meet up with Holly. The small tavern is cozy, nestled within one of the lower-class districts but far from the slums. It sells cheap drinks and food, Holly apparently is in good enough rapport with the owner to stay there for the night and get the group a private room for an hour to attempt to remove her curse.
The party heads up to the room and sets it up for Violet to cast Remove Curse, and, to her surprise, it’s very effective. Despite the lycanthropy curse being in quite a severe state, her spell is able to remove most of its lasting ailments leaving only remnants of the curse which is completely under Holly’s control. Holly is incredibly thankful, fully trusting the party to divulge some of the information she knows in exchange.
Holly tells the party of a place in the Farsouth known as the Clocktower. It’s seemingly akin to an orphanage for bastard children. Despite not knowing much about it, Holly’s very trusting of the location and intends to keep its secretive nature as close to her chest as possible, making the party swear not to tell anyone.
Calum then takes Holly aside as the party discusses, he gives her 100 gold pieces to donate to the organization, reminiscing on his own past. Had he gone eastward instead of westward, perhaps he would’ve arrived at the Clocktower himself.
The party then return home with promises that Holly will contact them when she finds a suitable time to leave for the Farsouth, which she happily agrees to. When they return, that jolly mood is instantly killed with a letter which waits for Violet.

Briefly, the party is shown around Drakenmarch, with some areas of note being:
- The lands of certain noble houses. Most of the “noble districts” of Drakenmarch consist of second or third children of noble families who are set to inherit nothing.
- The Drakenmarch Cathedral. A temple to the Faith of the Nine which had been torn down over time, now the temple has shrunk, it’s still quite magnificent but a far cry from the other famous cathedral, the Cathedral of High Harkin.
- Finally, Drakenmarch is infamous for the icons of the Draconic Pantheon which are displayed throughout the city. Built under Queen Saelerys, the predecessor of King Rahaevor, the statues symbolize the city’s unique dedication to the foreign pantheon.
