Birdfood

Life among the nomad clans, especially aboard the al Jabbar, is often a meritocracy. Birdfood was not related to anybody in charge of the Aib Tisamat, he was just a weird kid who worked hard. By the time he'd grown into a just as weird man, he'd worked himself up to the position of Sadi, or second in command, of the clan by a combination of smarts, being brash at the right time, selectively applied violence, and showing proper deference to Marrow, the clan's Shiekh.
His loyalty was rewarded, and when Marrow's plot against the Alsulb Alsuqur came to fruition, Birdfood was named Shiekh of that clan - and he now sits next to Marrow as one of the Seven Shiekhs of the al Jabbar.
Birdfood is known most for three things - his loyalty to Marrow, the genetically modified Shikira birds gifted to him by Marrow, and the blade that allows him to channel his pyrokinesis that he found on Adar after becoming Elect.
