Lloth
Mother of Spiders
Humanoids were mortal, and Lloth saw great potential. Using the power gained from the constant dying in her domain, Lloth transcended from the Abyss into the Celestial Plains to more easily deal with mortals. Upon her arrival, the other gods were immediately distrustful of this spider demon who was powerful enough to cross through planes of existence. However, they did not immediately react, giving Lloth enough time to enact her plan. Lloth, using newfound power from residing in the Celestial Plains, came to a group of elves in the form of an Elf and promised them great riches in the deep caves underground. When the elves ventured into the caves, Lloth sealed the cave and twisted the elves into a form that was closer to her own. She warped the brains of these new elves, the Drow, so that they would have unwavering loyalty and worship her. She lured more and more elves into the caves to warp and build Lloth an empire.
However, the more elves Lloth took, the more the other gods started to notice. Eventually, she was cast out of the Celestial Plains back into the Abyss. Due to her time out of the Abyss, her domain was taken over by Yeenoghu. With no domain to call her own, her power started to wain. The drow started to adopt other gods and venture back into the world above.
One drow she held onto was Gromph Baerne. Lloth invaded Gromph's mind, influencing him and teaching him a way to bring her back to power. Gromph performed the ritual, and successfully brought Lloth back. However, the ritual also brought every other demon lord into the Underdark. Lloth has began to bring the drow who wavered in her absence back under her control.
