Jormunganda, The World Serpent
Minor Goddess of Monsters, Perfection, Rebirth, Consumption, and Growth
When a god of the apocalypse changes their mind and decides that escape from their prison is good enough, maybe it's time to re-evaluate just how fucked up the times you're living in are.Titles: Mother of Beasts, The World Serpent, The Apex Predator, The Absorber and Consumer, The Perfectionist, The Ancient One, The Inevitable End Favored Weapon: Kukri Alignment: Neutral Evil Church Moniker: Church of the World Serpent Obedience: Spend an hour feasting upon pieces of your previously defeated foes(The fresher the better) while breaking the bones of a living creature to powder. If you have no living creature on hand, bones you harvested yourself from defeated creatures will suffice as replacement. Obedience Effect: By spending one minute ritualistically consuming a foe that was slain by you within the last minute(From the point the ritual is started), you can gain an indulgence from them as if you were a Gourmand of your level. You can have a maximum number of Indulgences at a time using this obedience equal to 1/4 your HD(Minimum 1). Creatures that possess the Swallow Whole Universal Monster Rule can gain indulgences in this manner from creatures they kill and digest using Swallow Whole instead of the above ritual. 1st Boon: The number of indulgences you can store at a time using this obedience rises to 1/3 your HD. Additionally, you can sacrifice a variable number of indulgence slots at dawn each day to gain one or more of the following abilities in their place(Which can be given up in a similar fashion to regain the slots):
- Gain the Swallow Whole UMR, dealing 4d12 Acid Damage at base. Gain +2 dice to swallow damage if you already possess Swallow Whole.
- Gain the Fast Swallow UMR. Your Internal AC is equal to your Touch AC, and your Internal HP rises to 1/5 your total HP instead of 1/10.
- You can call upon the unholy power of the World-Serpent as a move action to target an enemy you can see within 30ft. If they fail a Will Save(DC based off your CON), they are entangled and anchored as part of the World-Serpent manifests beneath them to restrain them. They remain anchored for 1 minute or until they make the save on their turn as a full-round action.
- You can coat your body in the World-Serpent's invincible carapace as a swift action - granting you DR/- equal to your Constitution Score which lasts until reversed as an identical action. However, all speeds you possess reduce by an amount equal to the DR gained in this manner(Rounded up). Speeds cannot be reduced below 5ft in this manner.
- By violently gyrating your hips and body as a move action, you can force all creatures you have swallowed that attempt to escape your stomach to do so via a method of your choosing(Either by cutting free or making checks to escape into your mouth) until the start of your next turn - the other method becomes effectively impossible for the duration of the effect.
- You can call upon the unholy power of the World-Serpent as a standard action that provokes attacks of opportunity to force a creature you can see to succeed at a Reflex Save(DC Based off your CON) or be instantly swallowed into your stomach as Jormunganda's maw opens beneath their feet and consumes them whole. If this creature is larger than could normally fit in your stomach, they are shrunk to fit for as long as they remain swallowed.
- By targeting a dead or dying creature within 30ft as a full-round action, you can summon the maw of the World-Serpent to devour them whole - whereupon they are chewed, swallowed, and spat out alive and intact at 1HP so long as they could be revived by a True Resurrection Spell. While you possess this ability and retain the favor of Jormunganda, your corpse is consumed in an identical manner 1 minute after you meet a violent death and you are reborn as per True Resurrection in a safe location near where you died 24 hours later. This ability does not function without a corpse, partial corpse, or body part of the deceased creature. Creatures reborn in this way may irregularly be reincarnated into a random species(GM Discretion) and/or have their souls consigned to Jormunganda after death. Repeatedly experiencing this ability increases the odds of these "mishaps" occuring.
- You can leech the size category of a creature you gain an indulgence from - gaining all bonuses of this new size category and none of the penalties. If the size is more than one size above or below your current size, you instead grow or reduce one size category as appropriate, with all the bonuses and none of the penalties. If you give up this ability after using it to grow in size, you return to experiencing all bonuses and penalties of your size as appropriate.

Artifacts
Though Jormunganda's faith has largely existed as a small, isolated series of scattered cults across Corexus and Inara for much of its history, it has begun growing in size and influence in recent years with the advent of the Age of Godsfall - believed to be thanks in no small part to the chaos of the prior age and the rising ire of the mortal populace of the planet of Ea with the Gods and their hubris, leading many to find Jormunganda's faith as a way to get revenge on the gods who sleighted them(Often by feeding them or their followers to Jormunganda herself).
As such, a handful of new artifacts have begun appearing irregularly across the land as a baleful symbol of Jormunganda's rising power, which are described below:
- The World-Serpent Rites: These artifact level magic rituals have been seen no less than 3 times within as many decades, but have only ever been fully invoked once - a series of unfathomably powerful rituals that when invoked allow for the summoning of specific body parts of Jormunganda herself into the surrounding area, usually to cataclysmic effect. Most recently, the Rite to invoke Jormunganda's maw was successfully invoked deep in the Wasting Sea under dubious circumstances - though the target of that ritual was never conclusively identified due to the extreme remoteness of the locale in which it was invoked.
- The Feasting Claw: A fearsome weapon forged by the fallen monk and mighty servant of Jormunganda Urlicitous the Vile after decades spent feasting upon enemies in her service during the Age of Troubles, the Feasting Claw was the personal weapon of Urlicitous himself and was made into a truly fearsome artifact during his lifetime - carrying numerous blessings of Jormunganda within it, this metallic claw attaches to the back of the hand like many similar monastic weapons and carries a pervasive stench of blood within its semi-rusted blades. Said to be capable of ripping the souls from struck creatures and transforming the wielder into a being capable of devouring their enemies whole, its mightiest power is said to emerge when the claw is dug into the wielder's body and the proper incantation spoken - at which point the wielder is said to offer up their own body as a conduit to manifest part of Jormunganda herself through(Most famously used by Urlicitous to transform his arms and legs into gargantuan tails and snake maws). Its current whereabouts are unknown, following Urlicitous's death at the hands of the champion of Hākem.
- The Fahralni Pactblade: This mighty two-handed blade, said to be as big as an adult human male, is believed to have been created when the World-Serpent Maw-Rite was invoked in the Wasting Sea - though the exact means and reasons of its creation are not yet known. Regardless, this mighty weapon is a wonderfully sharp weapon said to be magically imbued with the power to decapitate its foes with a single slice, channel the elements into its strikes, and a suite of other unique abilities powered by its ability to absorb and channel Atlen. Most famously, however, is its ability to form "pacts" with its wielder to enhance its own abilities and power exponentially - wherein the wielder of the weapon offers up a part of their body for the Pactblade to consume and devour to achieve a requested goal, objective, or to power a requested ability. Currently, it is believed to be wielded by Jormunganda's current champion - name and race unknown.
