Alex Samuel Mor

Featured in the chronicles of The Jade Bound God.

Alex Mor is a necromancer, who over the course of the above cronicle found the bound Reaper of Souls, stole him from his parents who itended to use him to bring about a second lich wars, and finally took over The Academy that his parents ran. He seems to have an undo amount of influence over the world, but is unknown to Terra at large.

History

Birth

Alex was born to parents who had been treated as simply an extension of their parents will, and a way to carry on their legacy, and they saw Alex just the same. When Alex was born one of the first things he experienced was being tested for affinity to Necromancy, if he hadn't shown a talent, he probably would've been put up for adoption.

Early years

A newer and larger addition to the academy, modeled more after gothic architecture of the before-magic era

From an early age Alex was trained in Necromancy, even from the age where most were simply learning the difference between red and blue. During this period, his parents discovered that his talents were more refined towards the skills regarding the body, specifically reanimation, and focused his training on this talent.

He quickly jumped to the top of his classes, far surpassing those whose training had begun years later, much to their chagrin. He would find himself largely isolated from his fellow classmates, and would spend the majority of his time wandering The Academy.

Escape from his parents

Alex would discover that his parents enforced the secrecy of their organization to a deadly degree, and that the skeletons he so often trained with were less-than-ethically sourced. He would attempt to escape without arousing suspicion, but would end up being caught by academy staff shortly before he could escape. There was then a short escape, where Alex was followed through nearby woods, and the rest is described in The Jade Bound God.

Modern

Post the events of the above mentioned chronicle, Alex would take over his parents Academy once they had finally been taken away by Chapmanian authorities. He would become a competent dean and Professor. He would also become an advocate for respecting the art of Necromancy, same as any Magic, and an advocate for a safe practice of said art.

Alex identifies as Cisgender, and uses he/him pronouns.

Sexuality

Alex would identify as Panromantic Asexual, and in addition, Grayromantic. Keeping in mind that these terms are used from an archival perspective rather than an in-world perspective. He has only had a few relationships, and has always known he did not wish to have sex.

Education

Alex never completed a full education, ending up receiving intense magic training, but being rather lacking in basic education. He can read, write, and do basic math, but only possess up to a standard eighth grade level.

Employment

Alex is self employed at The Academy, he pays himself a medium wage, and is competent at what he does. He also works as a professor. He has on occasion used his healing magic in order to assist the school nurse.

Personality

Trauma

Some significant traumas include the abuse sustained by his parents, the discovery of their dubious morality, and finally the entirety of the events in The Jade Bound God, referenced above several times. He has somewhat worked through this, but has a somewhat problimatic relationship to the last described trauma, usually choosing to not acknowledge said events.

Morality and Philosophy

Alex's philosophies are in line with that of the Reaper of Souls, by pure coincidence. He has a strong viewpoint on the prevention of death through magical means, in that he views any form of soul or lifespan extension unethical. In addition he feels strongly that the practice of Necromancy as a whole receives far too much disdain.

Tendencies

Alex tends to have more of a bronze than silver tongue, he is an extremely brash individual, which combined with his semi-naivety makes him a somewhat difficult individual to communicate with. In addition he has a tendency to avoid speaking to strangers unless absolutely necessary. He tends to launch into rants about whatever interest he is fixated on at the moment, and possibly necromantic rights, when he does.

Allies

One of Alex's closest allies is Bobart, a Mage and agent of the Modan empire. Their close camaraderie is emphasized by shared experience, namely the events of The Jade Bound God (referenced above several times).

Other allies include various professors and staff at the academy, who generally view him with an air of respect.

Enemies

The majority of Alex's enemies are remaining enemies of the old Academy management, including but not limited to, his parents, various old academy staff, and a not insignificant number of agents that are free and out in the world.

Family relations

In short: terrible. Almost every member of Alex's family is against his current actions. Aside from his parents however, the majority of his family would take him back in if he would return to their viewpoints. In addition a few members of his family share Alex's views, including several who live and work around the academy.

Description

Apperal

Alex continues to wear apparel in line with traditional Necromancy, including suits or robes in shades of black and grey. He has, as he slowly diverged from his parents teaching, expanded his accessorization, including more colors, usually in shades of purple or green.

The Jade, famously possessed by Alex

Alex continues to hold onto the Reaper of Soul's containment device, an object that possesses an incredible amount of Necromancy energy from the bound deity, and a not insignificant amount of residual Kinesis energy from the deity who did the Binding. Namely, The Groundbreaker. He often uses this in experimental necromancy, and has made a few discoveries in the scientific fields of Magology, Botany, and Medicine.

Third (& fourth!) eyes

A popular item amongst the upper class, the glasses are typically used for pranks or simply as novelty. Alex uses a specialized pair in order to view magical patterns and energy.
