Weavers

The Weavers are a lesser known part of the councils founded for the communication between different groups living in the Immortal Lands. They were originally known as a group of cultural scientists looking for ways to encourage multicultural settlements and to strengthen bonds against Matterbound People. Over concerns of racism and forced fornication to create hybrid babies not born out of an intercultural love affair but out of the curiosity of a third person to see what would create the best soldier, the best farmer, the best mage, the Weavers were officially disbanded in 7321 FE. However, a few remnant scientists prevail who either have affiliations to the Weavers or want to reinstate the organisation, some staying to reading old notes and articles and writing speculative essays, others fantasising about more, and some very extreme cases committing horrible crimes in hidden chambers, driven by the need to find the perfect breed to gain academic recognition and reinstate the Weavers officially. Among Naturebound People in particular, any suspected affiliation to the Weavers is cause for interrogation, imprisonment, banishment, and a range of other punishments should innocence not be proven. For someone working in academia, the rumour of someone being secretly sympathetic toward the practices of the Weavers, not even participation or any proven affiliation, is enough to end your career continent-wide within hours. As the ongoing dean of Alveolapis, Placida, has pointed out: “Any member of staff in our house ought not even to be under suspicion.”
