Bahumat aka the Celestial Hammer

Bahumat, Rider of Deinos the Terrible, grew up on the streets of Qargo. Naturally big and naturally strong as those of giant blood tend to be, they quickly started gathering a ganga about them. Qargo was a place of physical presence, the celestial Ram the patron of the town blessed it with a violent education. For there was a time when it was just a town hosting one of the many Etorian arenas.   But with the arrival of Lord Aristion, the Silver Ram of the Paladinic order of the Unbreakable the town changed. More and more folks would visit to be in the presence of such a figure and want to prove themselves in this small arena.   Businesses either changed or left to go elsewhere. Those that stayed changed their stock to that benefiting those of the arena. Trainers from all over Etoria and further afoot bought and built homes in Qargo.   Bahumat grew up around these changes, this introduction of a perpetual presence of violence and yet held true to their gentle heart. Keeping the patch of the streets they slept in was somedays difficult and other days a simple conversation was all that was needed to deter threats.   The business of the arena started to take interest in those of the street seeing a spark for survival in everyone of them. They were offered coins and food and the thing that most Etorains desire, glory.   Bahumat accepted and became quite the dominant attendee. With a reputation for never staying down and always working for the survival of not only themselves but the team they were put with in match ups. Those with a taste for adventure and treasure hunting always need a party of willing folk to go find these things and so Bahumats name was at the top of many lists.   However, folk earning wealth don’t like it to be under threat and losing Bahumat from the arenas would decrease certain folks' funds.   Enter Lord Aristion the Silver Ram. They had made a lot of gold from Bahumats victories and were not keen on letting them go. So after some time praying to the Celestial Ram they decided that Bahumat should be challenged to an impossible combat. One that only could be won if Bahumat was destined to do so.   It is here our tale of The Ergasía begins. Bahumat was given the task of slaying the dragon, Nemean. Neamean had the run of the Dwallo Mountains. There was no conflict with the dragon, they simply lived in the mountains. It was told that Lord Aristion had asked Nemean to be their mount when the need for battle arose. Nemean turned them down. An ego was bruised.   Bahumat accepted the challenge but only if a few of their friends from their youth could come along. Terms were agreed.   Bahumat took up backpack and their favoured weapon, a large war hammer. Adventure before them. Traveling deep into the Dwallo Mountains Bahumat met with Nemean. Told them that a challenge had been issued that resulted in the dragons death.   Nemean laughed so loud that towns at the base of the mountains feared an earthquake. Nemean had no issues with Bahumat but would not be threatened by a mortal no matter how fearless they presented themselves to be.   It was the dragons turn to issue challenge, something Bahumat was getting bored of but accepted before even hearing what it was to be. With this Nemean vanished in an arcane display of power.   Present day those of Etoria whisper a prayer of request to Bahumat grant strength in everyday life.
