LY-5500 Starhawk
A flagship model of Corestar personal transport ships. First released as LY-5000 without the FTL capability, the warp drive accessory was sold with 95% of all the models sold. As an accessory, the warp drive wasn't perfectly integrated, so the Starhawk was re-released as LY-5500 with the FTL capability in the standard equipment. This greatly improved the warp drive's reliability. Another popular package is a defense one, consisting of a stronger shield generator and a retractable particle turret on the belly. The turret's firing arc is limited by the warp drive, but it is still enough to discourage most pirates - especially when combined with others in a convoy.
In some areas, mostly around the border between Commonwealth and Union as well as the outer reaches of human civilization, owners of these yachts often install a second turret (on the back of the ship), ditching the observation dome, the biggest selling point in the more civilized areas.
