RZ-63 Razorwire
Overview:
The RZ-63 Razorwire is the fastest and most volatile variant of the Kravari Lineage’s Ghostrunner-class mechs. Engineered for terminal velocity ground assault, the Razorwire lives up to the Lineage’s deadly reputation for reckless speed and flamboyant violence. Every part of its construction screams adrenaline, performance, and acceptable risk of self-destruction.Chassis and Frame:
The Razorwire is built on a slender, low-profile skeleton, shedding all unnecessary bulk for reduced drag and mass. Its skeletal structure is a reinforced carbon-diamond-tungsten weave, with hollowed load-bearing struts filled with velocity-dampening gel to prevent disintegration during high-speed collisions. The frame is covered in Obsidite-Graphene Laminate—a next-gen armor compound designed by the Dia’crai Syndicate for heat and shear resistance. It won’t stop tank fire, but it will survive frictional heat at speeds exceeding 500 mph.Locomotion System – The Hellwheels:
Instead of traditional feet, the Razorwire employs a revolutionary system of dual gyroscopic, magnetically stabilized wheels—nicknamed Hellwheels—each built from a solid-core osmium-titanium ring with a smart-gel suspension layer that dynamically adjusts to stress and vibration. These wheels are rimmed with self-repairing ablative micro-blades, which maintain traction on nearly any surface at extreme speeds.• Max Speed: 512 mph ground speed (using Hellwheels assisted by thruster)
• Auto-Stabilization: High-speed active steering fins mounted along the back and shoulders help with balance at full speed.
• Emergency Brake System: High-velocity magnetic anchors and micro-thrusters along the calves dig in and go full reverse burn to assist deceleration. Meant for emergencies only—pilots often avoid using them due to the “torso-lash” risk.
Jump Jet Propulsion – The Plasma Orchid:
Mounted along the spine is the MK-IV “Plasma Orchid” Jet, a liquid-plasma thruster used for high-velocity drag bursts and boosting ground speed during critical charges or jumps. The thruster is directly fed by the reactor’s plasma manifold, producing searing red jets of plasma that create visible shockwaves and afterimages in the air.• Max Thrust Output: 92,000 N
• Burn Time: 8 seconds continuous before cooldown
• Fuel Source: Reactor-linked plasma injectors with auxiliary burst tanks
• Signature Effect: Emits a keening wail and rips ozone trails behind the mech
Reactor Core – Mursai FX-L9 Core Reactor:
A compact fusion-core engineered specifically for rapid energy spikes and brutal overclocking. The FX-L9 is highly unstable under normal conditions—perfect for Kravari standards.• Fuel: Deuterium-Tritium mix
• Continuous Output: 130 MW
• Overclock Mode: 300 MW (limited to 30 seconds)
• Safety Rating: Red (use of reactor requires signing the Kravari Death Waiver)
Cockpit and Head Stabilization:
Because the mech hits turns at G-forces that would liquefy standard pilots, the head and neck assembly are reinforced with:• Quad-hinged carbon-lattice vertebrae for hyperflexibility
• Gyro-balance stabilizers to counteract neck-snapping inertia
• Shock-sponge cranial cradle that protects internal optics, targeting arrays, and pilot feedback systems as well as the rider themself Most pilots also undergo cranial nerve dampening before piloting to reduce the risk of seizures from high-speed sensory input.
Common Loadout:
• Primary: VAX-5 High-Speed sub-caliber 28mm Autocannon (linked to head-mounted targeting)• Secondary: Wrist-mounted Micro-Rockets or retractable plasma claws
• Optional: Anti-personnel shrapnel dispensers/tire bursters on the Hellwheels
Development Accidents (Known as the “Razor’s List”):
1. Test Pilot #001: Shred Incident The first prototype exploded during a brake test at 660 km/h, vaporizing the lower half of the mech and liquefying the pilot through the seat restraints. Only his teeth and bone fragments were found.2. RZ-P03: Plasma Orchid Meltdown During a failed flight jump test, the Plasma Orchid ignited too early, launching the mech into a stadium wall at Mach 0.6. It embedded into the stands like a dart and continued burning for 3 hours.
3. Control Room Fireball A software bug during Hellwheel diagnostics triggered the mech to perform a sudden 360-degree spin at full thrust while docked. The mech turned into a buzzsaw and severed the entire control tower before exploding. Survivors later described it as “a metallic hurricane with a vendetta.”
4. Accidental Arena Entry A test Razorwire mistakenly entered a live mech-race arena during a children’s exhibition event. Though no children were killed, 47 VIP guests were bisected, and 9 other mechs were demolished before the pilot realized he was not in the simulation chamber.
Final Notes:
The RZ-63 Razorwire is not for common Syndicate pilots. Only the most deranged, chemically enhanced, and glory-addicted Kravari Ghostrunners are trusted with its reins. It is a pure expression of the Lineage’s philosophy: velocity over sanity, spectacle over survival. Every Razorwire is both a weapon and a statement: “I dare death to keep up.”
