Orelington

The area of Orelinton was first developed for iron and copper mining around the same time as Clawson. Back then it was a loose collection of independent mining businesses spread over the area. Due to the very rich mineral deposits all around the area, the mining businesses extended their operations and soon started to grow together into one large settlement that is now known as Orelington.   In order to keep prices stabil and profitable for everyone, the "miners council" was founded. Back then it was comprised of the owners of the mines. Over time the scope of the council shifted and it became the town council as it is known today. It is still run by the heads of the different mining and industry branches, but the number of seats changed over time, as businesses changed ownership.   The discovery of coal in a nearby area changed the nature of Orelington one last time. It lead to the development of a number of smelting business and thereby made it into the industrial town we see today.   Some small and very specialiced manufacturers settled down in Orelington as well. But most manufacturers prefer the clear air and quieter atmosphere of neighboring cities over the metalic smell and dust filled air of Orelington.
