Session Seventeen
General Summary
The day after ransacking Alice's place, Justin, Willow and Leah made plans to deal with Freddie. The plan was to find a derelict building where Willow could prepare a ritual barrier to trap Freddie. They would then call Alice to get her to come there and give her the Magic Stealing Bracelet to see if that get's rid of Freddie. If that didn't work then they'd try to use Willow's barrier to try and remove him from Alice.
Late morning, Alice woke up to find she was not in her usual bed/coffin. Instead she appeared to be in a warehouse that looked similar to the ones where they had fought the Cindermen. There was tools around where it looked like Freddie had been making a staff, as well ast a load of farm animals. Looking around further she found an unconcious man (skin head, wearing leathers, appeared to have a head injury). Talking to Freddie, it turned out to be a Cinderman that Freddie had caught since he thought that Cindermen might not count as people so get around the promise to Justin. He asked Alice for permission to vivisect the Cinderman to research more about it. Alice said no and called Justin.
While Alice explained the situation to Justin, Freddie grew more annoyed as Alice discussed her plans to get rid of everything Freddie had spent the night doing. At the end of the conversation, he took control of Alice completely, leaving Alice a passenger in her own body. He hung up the phone then went to talk to the captured Cinderman, giving the Cinderman the ultimatum that he could either let himself be possessed or he would be killed. Despite Alice's attempts to stop Freddie from talking, the Cinderman accepted and Alice blacked out.
Alice woke up some time later, with a very quiet head, to her phone ringing from Justin as they had finished preparing the barrier to trap Freddie. She answered and on the subsequent phone call, Justin invited her to their location before Freddie revealed he was out and gave Justin the choice: Recind the promise that Freddie had been forced to make or he would hurt Alice. Justin said no as he did not believe he'd be able to hurt Alice. At this point Alice lunged at the Cinderman that Freddie was now possessing and killed him.
When the Cinderman died in the usual burning to ashes way, Freddie emerged out of him as a burning spirit. Before Alice could react, he quickly disappeared through the wall.
Back at the Derelict Building they'd found, Justin, Willow and Leah heard on the phone from Alice what had happened and realised that he was probably on their way to them. They figured out that Willow may be able to trap him still and he couldn't survive without a body for long, however he was now made of fire - the thing Willow is deathly afraid of. In addition, physical attacks would not be effective without using something like silver (that Leah could not touch). Justin attempted to use his abilities to protect Willow by enforcing his will on the world and saying "You will not burn". Willow used her wyrd and was able to detect Freddie approaching them.
Justin stood in front with his knife to provoke Freddie into going into the trap, which worked. When he entered the circle, Willow raised the barrier and trapped him. He tried to escape and cast magic inside the barrier but Willow held the barrier firm. It did not take that long for him to weaken then disappear into nothing.
