Following discovering the possible murder of the late King Carial Parlent , she has changed her seat to her home region, Northern Riverlands , from where she organizes an investigation of the king's death and especially Matteus Candentes' role in it.

Motivation
Clarine is a strong proponent of feudalism, believing that the common-folk needs noble blood to look up to, to direct them. Without a strong noble core in society, anarchy rules according to Clarine.
Clarine still supports her fallen father, Duke Rolan Fairweather and his campaign with King Carial Parlent to overthrow The Dawnspeakers. She has been raised with a deeply rooted hatred of the organisation and how it equalized everyone; she is also a believer in the conspiracies against them, suggesting that they drained the population of energy to accomplish their own devious goals. In many ways, Clarine believe even stronger in the course than both her father and especially Carial did. Clarine agrees that sorcery is the root of much evil, and that the hunt of spellcasters is for the betterment of the world, but she has never been comfortable with the fact that spellcasters are leading this effort; who should any of their ilk be authorized?
Her dislike for sorcery has festered through the years, after her father fell in the Battle in the Broken Hills as a result of Matteus Candentes 's explosive sorcery, an act she refuses to believe was necessary.
While Clarine loves her son, King Lucius Parlent , she also know that he is lost to other parts of court. She is convinced it was better when she was temporary regent after her husband Prince Floren Parlent's death. She is eager to once again assume control of her son, allowing her to set a much stricter course against mages and finally get rid of Matteus Candentes as well as limit the freedoms of the people's representatives in the The Masked Council.
An additional pursuit of hers, is to avenge her husbands murder.
