Bertiel Waldenheim
Second hand to Bartolleus Flech, and known as the steward of the magisters. When others go on mission, he stays in to deal with every-day problems as well as look after apprentices too inexperienced to follow their masters on mission.
Before Perovalt Kopernikus left The Magistrate, he and Bertiel were known as the primary magical theorists in the Magistrate, both spending more time in books than on mission. Now Bertiel continues his research alone.
For Bertiel, knowledge is paramount, which has led him to having a spy-master kind of role in the magistrate. With his divination magic, he is aware of most events transpiring in Eronus, and what he misses his many informants will tell him. Rumors say that Bertiel in this work found damning evidence against his friend Perovalt and his dangerous work, and it was this discovery that forced Perovalt off the council.
