Prompt 27: The Haze

I remember when a young maulin developed the haze. He was rather fun on taking herbs that could enhance his sense of smell for tracking. Made him one of the best trackers around. Too bad he developed the haze just before a big mission. He didn't even smell the enemy as he stood downwind from them. That was his biggest mistake and his last mission. - Ace Cardia

The Haze is a common sickness that can occur amongst those who have taken to many herbs or tonics that can increase the senses. This can cause the afflicted to lose one or more of their five senses. While it is possible to wait it out if there isn't any severe damage, it can get worse with repeated incidents
Luckily there have been some major breakthroughs with medicine and herbs that can deal with the after-effects of haze and if taken regularly can prevent symptoms from flaring up.

Transmission & Vectors

The haze can be gained by taking anything that can enhance one's senses. It happens because the user burns out their senses by taking such substances too often. This can be common among beast tribe members who try to enhance their senses to improve their ability to hunt or to dull their sense of pain before a battle

Causes

One's senses have been magically overloaded or stunted.

Symptoms

The Haze causes the afflicted to begin to have dull sensations with one of their five senses. Repeated incidents have the sense dull more and more till they lose the ability to even use it. This can sometimes cause other sense to dull and can lead to someone losing all sensation if it develops to much.

Treatment

Luckily some medicine has been developed to deal with the haze. as long as you take it regularly it is possible to turn back even the most extreme effects with time.

Prognosis

Stage 1: One of the five senses begins to dull in sensation at odd times.

Stage 2: It gets worse where it will persist for days. Sometimes even losing all sensation.

Stage 3: Complete loss of the sensation with no chance of it coming back on its own.

Stage 4: More of the five senses begin to dull or lose total sensation.

Stage 5: Total loss of all sensations Causing the person to feel as if they are in a void of nothingness.
