Prompt 19: The Heart of Salire

The Heart of Salire is the name given to the elemental generator that both represents the symbol and it's purpose. The Heart of Salire is what has allowed for the city to prosper. Being both a symbol of the power of the city and the key to its ability to survive in such a harsh climate. The heart was once just a mechanical tower that was connected to the four shrines that make up part of the power sources for the tower.   The Heart of Salire was a gift from the Presari Empire to the humans who took up the deal to join the empire as protected servants. They took up the challenge and traversed the waste to find the tower and begin the process of rekindling. Once it was rekindled by the torch bearer and their allies they were able to turn a frozen valley into a paradise. Which the Heart still does to this very day even with the modifications that were done to it.   Nowadays it even acts as the source of power to a lot of the city and have been modified to spread it's influence beyond the walls of the valley. This has made it possible to support the growing population that seems to be expanding past the original walls of the settlement.

Purpose / Function

The Heart of the Forge is an Elemental Generator capable of using elemental essence to manipulate the environment. Making soil fertile, creating water safe to drink, and regulating the temperature around it. It even had the ability to bend weather to it's knees.

Alterations

There has been modifications to the heart of Salire. Some to improve it's looks and maintain it's functions. While others were designed to expand it's functions like allowing it to spread it's power to special power stations built on it's designs to send some of the excess elemental essence to other spots.
