Cera

Cera is both beloved and hated in the Werewolf community. Following the Great Purge the remainders of werewolf society tend to believe Cera was a crazed She-wolf heretic and deserved to be put down and, indeed, she was burned at the stake following an altercation with she-wolf hunters.

Even during her time, Cera was considered a bit of a revolutionary and admired and despised for her open work with the fae to develop magical theory and practice, which was hardly done in werewolf society. Cera was a confirmed she-wolf and spent time with packs in Ireland, Scotland, Wales, England and, before her death, France. She adhered to the older beliefs that she-wolves were not to be controlled or kept to one individual pack, but free to go where they may, and gained several enemies from emotionally painful separations from packs. She was considered to be very wise and capable with magic and was often invited to come and teach her skills to nova and she-wolves alike.

Toward the end of her life, Cera and her son, Gwydion, created a society called the Daughters of Leto in order to provide mutual aid and protection to she-wolves and wolfblooded women who were being targeted as hunters began to prey upon them more openly and anti-she-wolf rhetoric became more widespread. This society was considered to have died out as witch burning declined throughout the 18th and early 19th century, but lived on in secret, even flourishing in the United States.

In modern times, Cera is held as a revered symbol of she-wolf independence among those who wish for such a thing and she holds a space as a saint in the hearts of many. Even among those who did not agree with her politics or her sources, her magical prowess is still considered to be greatly unrivaled and many still greedily hunt for her grimoires to this day.
