Cera's Grimoires

Cera's life was a long and prosperous one, despite the troubled times in which she died. She traveled all across Europe, most notably the British Isles, and collected knowledge from every she-wolf and pack she encountered, writing the information down in an unprecedented series of volumes that were, unfortunately, lost at the time of her death. There were initial rumors that her son Gwydion White-Cerason had them in his possession, but there has been no evidence to confirm this, despite several forced searches of his homes by those seeking the grimoires, which he sites as his reasoning for his flight to North America and the subsequent founding of the White Mountains Pack.

Significance

Cera's Grimoires are the collected works of Cera and are considered to be the ultimate compendium of werewolf magical knowledge. Since she was widely considered one of the greatest she-wolf sorceresses of all time, these books would be considered incredibly valuable, but they are even more desirable now that modern werewolves have begun to realize the treasure of magical knowledge and medical understanding of their species was lost during the Great Purge, which has led to a severe drop in fertility and increase in infant and maternal mortality across the world. Packs who did not participate in the purge are also unwilling to share their knowledge with others and all attempts to negotiate for such information have failed. It should be noted that these packs who still have living she-wolf populations among them have not been similarly affected with infertility and, thus, are more numerous and have the benefit of having she-wolves capable of shifting to dire form to defend their way of life and their secrets.   As such, there has been an uneasy peace between the Pro-Purge and Anti-Purge factions. Due to the available data, it is reasonable to assume that the knowledge and understanding that she-wolves have handed down through the generations is necessary for the species to thrive and the works of Cera may very well be the last way to find them again.
