Nuaira Steam Engine

The Nuaira Steam Engine is a heat engine that performs mechanical work using steam to push a piston (or multiple pistons) back and forth inside a cylinder. This force is transformed through the use of a flywheel and connecting rod, into a rotational force. While similar to a Nuaira Steam Turbine, the Steam Engine is a reciprocating engine.
The Nuaira focused on sustainable technology when developing the steam engine, and wove Arcane Magic into their design. The simplest design is a pressurized water tank made of metal set inside a larger container, into which a fire spell is cast or a fire elemental is summoned.
The heat of the fire passes into the water in the tank, raising its temperature to the boiling point. Steam escapes through valves in the tank, which in turn passes to the motor unit. Excess steam is typically channeled back into the pressurized water tank as it condenses and cools.
