Iron Oroka

Iron Oroka are subterranean Oroka from cave structures rich in iron and other metals. Over countless generations they've absorbed trace amounts of metallic ore until as a subrace they have vastly elevated iron in their bones and superdense musculature. Due to the abundance of materials as a culture they've gotten quite proficient at metalworking, and indeed get their name from their fondness for festooning themselves in heavy iron and steel as much as for their grey skin and silver eyes.   Their claws and tusks are somewhat less prominent than normal Oroka, since long ago they gave up natural weapons for iron, wood and steel. While their builds are actually less outwardly bulky than other Oroka their density causes them to weigh roughly one-quarter more than an Oroka of the same size.

Culture

Culture and cultural heritage

The Iron Oroka culture prizes hard work, the forge, fighting, and loud music.

Common Dress code

The Iron Oroka festoon themselves with iron, steel, and other worked metals, either as armor or simply ornamental decoration. Because of the propensity of the culture to violence, functional armor is preferred over simple ornamentation.

Common Taboos

Iron Oroka avoid bodies of water, as their increase density makes staying afloat difficult, along with the stigma of rusted iron being weak.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

Iron Oroka are absurdly strong and hardy, but their dense bones and musculature slows them down. Living underground in a haze of forge smoke and cacophany does little for the senses or peace of mind.
