The Golden Spear of Kafiri is an artifact claimed to rest at the top of the Arcanum Institute's tower in Thaimi, in the Magocracy of Ezir.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

At will, the Spear of Kafiri can increase the brightness of the area around it (up to 120 feet / 36.58 meters) equivalent to daylight. This is an Extraordinary effect, and can negate magical darkness up to and including deeper darkness.
For up to eight hours per day, the Spear of Kafiri can take on the Anchoring special property. The time used does not need to be consecutive, but does operate in one hour incriments. Any use less than one hour consumes one hour's worth of time.

Significance

Legend says the Spear was used to wound the sun and bind it to the tower in order to bring the world out of the darkness.
