Yrhan's Apothecary

Yrhan's apothecary, located in the Old-Town district of the City of Gandasi, is a small herbal and potion shop that occupies the first level of a small appartement building, which Yrhan owns and lives in.

Architecture

First Floor: The Shop

As said previously, the shop is located on the first floor of a small appartement building. It is a rather small and cluttered, with rows of shelves containing pots, bottles, pouches or other containers full of various ingredients which can be used to makes medicines,are laid out along the walls for people to buy, while pre-prepared medicines are stored on shelves behind the counter. The shop itself occupies about 2/3rd of the first floor.

First Floor: The storage room

A small door behind the counter gives access to a storage room, which occupies the rest of the floor. Is is cluttered with hundreds of boxes, crates, pots and sacs that contains many base ingredients for common medicines. The basement is used for some storage and also to prepare/cut/cook some ingredients, and it can be accessed by a small staircase in the storage room.

Second Floor: Appartements

Two appartements are located on the second floor, which are rented to tenants. Since Yrhan owns the building, she is the one renting out the appartements. The second floor, and the appartements can be accessed by an exterior staircase in the back of the building. Each appartement has a kitchen, living room, washroom and a bedroom. A small balcony located over the nearby street can be accessed by the bedroom.

Third Floor/Attic: Yrhan's Home

The third floor, which is the attic, is about 75% as large as the building's first and second floor. Since Yrhan bought the building, It was converted into an cozy appartement, complete with a kitchen, bedroom, washroom and living room. From the living room, a small terrace can be accessed. A few chairs and a table, as well as many flower pots, some of which are used in the shop, makes this spot cozy and relaxing. It also has a nice view of the city around it as well as to the bay and river. The bedroom also has a balcony, much like the appartements bellow, but the view isn't as great. Conveniently, the appartement can be reached directly from the shop via a staircase located in the storage room behind the counter.

Products

The shop specialises in various types of medicines that mainly cater to non-mage humans, such as potions, pills and ointments to threat various sickness. However, it does have a selection of potions that catters specifically to either Elemental Mages and Soulbound Mages as well. Many of the products sold here are grown or otherwise procured locally in the region, but some are imported to the city by merchants, such as Yrhan's younger sister Amalia and her crew by boat from Gys, Casqal and Vrahlis.

Clientele

The shop is one of the most well known establishment in the city and many of its residents, from all walks of life, visit and shop here. Yrhan Tenei, the shop owner and keeper, is well liked and respected by the shoppers, and she is known to give generous discounts to regular consumers. Some of these customers are also part of her intelligence gathering network, and the shop acts as a gathering point to exchange that information.

A quiet spot in a bustling city

Calydan, as well as most recently his friends Omaren and Melwyn, are regular visitors of the store, often doing so on the weekends or on mondays, when the shop is closed. Calydan visits most often, as he is both close to Yrhan, and passionate about alchemy. For many summers in a row now, he spent many days in the shop, helping her with various tasks, such as preparing some products for sale.
