Wild Mana

Wild Mana is a magical energy found naturaly within the natural elements of the physical world of Hysal, as well as being very abundant inside The Etherial plane as well.

Manifestation

Wild Mana can be tapped into by Mages as well as by some animals to create magic. This magic can takes many different forms and intensity.

Elemental Magic

Elemental magic can be created by Elemental Mages, who are divided into 8 different types, each with its own element. These elements can be found throughout the natural world, and each can contain various amounts of Wild Mana. This energy can be tapped into, either to be absorbed by the mage's core, used to manipulate the element, or create more of it. It can also be used to heal injuries faster, and offers a boost of energy went consumed. Wild mana in the physical plane is a limited resource, and the different elements are prone to physical change depending on the amount of mana they contain within themselves.

Soulbound Magic

Soulbound Magic works differently than its elemental counterpart and is generaly considered more powerful. Soulbound Mages are linked to another plane of existence called "The Ether" via a semi-solid tether, which is invisible to most. This dimension is full of an exotic form of Wild Mana, and it can be transfered down to the mages via their tether and feeds into their cores. However, the amount of mana they can store, use and syphon through that tether at any given moment is highly variable on things like the presence of Veos's moonlight or their current altitude. Like for elemental mages, this mana can be consumed for energy and used for healing. Since there is no hard limits on the amount of wild mana that can be used at the same time by a single mage, it makes The Ether a theoraticaly infinite source of mana.

Mana Visualisation

Mana energy can be seen in a few different ways by both types of mages, while humans aren't able too. While Elemental Mages cannot see their own mana, or wild mana directly, but they are able to sense it, and its interactions with the surrounding environment. This ability is more accute with eyes closed, given that they become deprived of visual stimuli. However, for true visualysation, Soulmages are were that ability really manifests. For them, mana appears in the form of a mist, which emanates from the environment and from other mages. Depending on its source, the mana has a different tinge. For Soulweavers especialy, they are also able to see the tether that links them and other soulmages to the Ether, which is also made of that exotic Etherial mana

Wild Mana forms and Sources

In general, natural elements are good sources of wild mana. The sun provides ample mana for Lightmages, Wind or hot air generates mana for Windmages, any open flame is a good source of mana for a Firemage, mana from hot or rushing water nourishes both Tidemages and Ice mages. Lava and hot metal generate mana for Stonemages and Metalmages respectively. Outside of these common sources, wild mana can also be found in solid form all over the world, within Lycanite crystals. Mana is simply called that when it is generated from within a human or animal, and every human has mana, but only mages are able to use it, thanks to their cores, which is the organ that store and generates mana. Souls are also apparently made of an exotic form of wild mana, which can only be seen and manipulated by some soulmages. In fact, it is widely considered that the The Ether may contain a near infinite amount of it. Mana usage in general can also by regulated by using Talismans.
